This year we transitioned to a new format for our derby. Through the Fish Donkey app, the derby was successfully able to move to a full catch and release style event! This allows our derby to continue to grow without the impact to the fish population a non catch and release style derby can have!
Once again the NWT business community stepped up in a big way! We had an incredible range of gifts and prizes for participants, and we were able to add some critical equipment to help our derby continue to evolve. Without these businesses, this derby could not be what it is today! The NWT Arctic Anglers want to again say a heartfelt thank you to all those businesses that have supported us from the start, and extend and welcome to our new sponsors!
With the support of these businesses, and the increased community interest, we were able to raise and donate over $19,000 to the Food First Foundation of Yellowknife and the NWT!! An amazing milestone we have never imagined possible when this derby was first thought up!
